Andrey Tsarikovsky: fifteen years of Russian-American cooperation in the field of competition development have effect

”Russian-American cooperation in the field of competition development has effect. During  this period we were studying in details the experience of our American colleagues  in the field of  anti-cartel activity”, - said Stats-Secretary – Deputy Head of the FAS Russia Mr. Andrey Tsarikovsky  at the meeting with the representatives of the US Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Department of Justice and the Embassy of the United States of America in Moscow in the frameworks of the BRIC International Competition Conference in Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan) on the 1st of September.  

In his tern Vice-Chair of the International Competition Network (ICN) , Commissioner of the  Federal Trade Commission of the USA Mr. William Kovacic noted  that the new stage of relations between Russian and American competition agencies came. Now not only Russian competition agency being more young takes over the  age-long experience of American colleagues  in antimonopoly regulation, but  representatives of the FTC and  the Ministry of Justice of America  can study experience of  the FAS Russia.

At the meeting  Mr. Andrey Tsarikovsky thanked the representatives of the American delegation for  interest taken in the Conference organized by the FAS Russia on cooperation with competition authorities of Brazil, India and China.

The Deputy Head of the FAS Russia stressed the continuing assistance rendered by the U.S. Department of Justice and the US Federal Trade Commission in organizing and holding workshops and roundtables on competition policy for representatives of the FAS Russia in different regions of Russia, including in the field of anti-cartel activity.

At the meeting the parties also discussed prospects of the Russian-American cooperation in the field of competition as well as possible forms of interaction of competition bodies of Russia and the USA in the sphere of public procurement.

Besides, the parties discussed in details issues related to the upcoming working visit of the FAS Russia’s delegation to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice.
At the end of the meeting the parties expressed hope on further development of fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation.
