The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) held a number of bilateral meetings with the Heads of antimonopoly agencies of China, Brazil, India, Estonia, Portugal, Austria, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Mongolia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Syria, Indonesia in the frames of the BRIC International Competition Conference in Kazan on September 1-2, 2009.
«Bilateral meetings between the Heads of competition agencies allow to share national experience in protection and development of competition that will promote creation of effective practice of violations’ suppression in the markets”, - told the Head of the FAS Russia Mr. Igor Artemiev.
Besides bilateral meetings of the Stats-Secretary – Deputy Head of the FAS Russia Andrey Tsarikovsky with delegation of competition authorities of the USA, of the Deputy Head of the FAS Russia Anatoly Golomolzin with delegation of competition authority of Mongolia and the Deputy Head of the FAS Russia Andrey Tsyganov with the delegation of regional bodies of antimonopoly agency of China and with the Head of competition authority of Senegal were held.
The Heads of competition agencies discussed the main changes in antimonopoly legislation of theirs countries. According to Igor Artemiev , introducing of the wide range of amendments into Russian competition legislation will enhance efficiency of the FAS Russia’ activity, including cartel combating.
Summarizing the results of the meetings the Parties outlined further prospects of development of bilateral cooperation in the field of competition policy.
