BRIC International Competition Conference is organized by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation together with the Brazilian Competition Policy System (that includes Council for Economic Defence, Secretariat of Economic Law of Ministry of Justice and Secretariat of Economic Monitoring of Ministry of Finance), Competition Commission of India and State Administration for Industry & Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. The Conference gained the high-level support in the Government of the Russian Federation.
BRIC International Competition Conference will be held on August 31 – September 2, 2009 in Kazan, Russia.
This Conference shall be the first event of its kind within the competition community that will focus on topical issues of competition development in the fast-growing economies. This opportunity to exchange the best practices will allow BRIC countries representatives, as well as other Conference participants to harmonize principles of competition policy implementation and to define further steps on its development promoting in such way the economic progress.
We are expecting participation of over 300 representatives from the Russian and foreign competition authorities, as well as from CIS countries, international organizations and various integration groups, representatives of enforcement agencies, judiciary, business community, academicians and civil society institutions.
Within the BRIC International Competition Conference we plan to discuss various aspects of competition policy development and implementation, including topical issues of competition development, role of competition in elaborating measures aimed at recovery of the financial and other sectors of economy, necessity of competition advocacy and anti-cartel activity in the countries with the fast-growing economies.
This Conference shall promote further harmonization of national competition laws, as well as business rules which is an essential condition for intensification of international trade and investment relations and optimal integration of BRIC countries into the global economic system.
Within the frameworks of the Conference there will be held a number of plenary meetings and Sessions on topical issues; moreover we will organize the cultural and social events and receptions. |
